I have to agree that Dave definately does palm mute on occasion. I've heard him do it at the very beginning of Crush on the Bm chord, also he sometimes slightly palm mutes the very begginning of the Tripping Billies intro. And on acoustic versions of Gravedigger and yes it does sound like he palm mu...

I don't know if you're dead-set against a soundhole pickup but the LR Baggs M1 really sounds great, I heard one for the first time just the other day and I was really impressed.

The price was $ 2650 with a sig inlayed (presumably your own, which would be pretty cool) but I actually asked the guy at Buffalo Bros. what would happen if I just sent them a copy of Dave's sig, and he said they more than likely would catch on and refuse to do it.

I was referring to a guitar that I got priced through Buffalo Bros with the Martin Custom Shop. I asked them to price a guitar identical to a DM3MD. They said they could do it but without Dave's sig inlayed at the 12th fret. I was quoted a price of $2400 for this guitar, which in my opinion beats th...

I was actually quoted a price of $2400 for a custom shop guitar built to the exact specs as the DM3MD (minus the sig at 12th fret)(from Buffalo Bros.). Which I think is fairly reasonable. That was however, about a year ago so the price may have gone up slightly. The main reason i opted not to go for...

Dave and his fellow Grammy performers

With all due respect to Dave and his nice Beatle's tribute, how blown away was I by the White Stripes? That was some of the most inspired and ferocious playing I've ever seen, I have a totally new respect for Jack White as a player, I think he has a few more chops than I realized. And also (no matte...

i think its a 914ce, I've seen it (well at least one of his 914's) from pretty close up and he just has black tape over the Fishman Blender and he's actually playing through a Fishman Matrix under the saddle piezo.
