Looking for NC people to start a band

I'm looking for a bass player, another acoustic guitarist, and possibly a drummer in western NC to start an acoustic band along the lines of DMB/Dashboard Confessional type music. Anyone interested? I live in Winston-Salem, about 10 mins out of downtown.

If it's a solid-wood guitar, I bet it's heavy as CRAP.

You could wait and buy a Taylor 110, they're coming out in the Summer for sub-$700 methinks. It's a laminated side and back guitar with a solid top. Worth a look at.

Black fiber = wood fiber died black... that easy. Black PLASTIC = Black PLASTIC. And trust me, I would NEVER buy a guitar if it didn't sound good. Trust me, the Taylors are, with the exclusion of the Babies and the new 110, completely solid wood guitars. They're wood inside and out. That settles that.

Coated strings are for little girls. That is all.
Then apparently Dave Matthews is the biggest girl of them all. He uses EXPs, you know...

I use the EXPs in conjunction with FastFret. That takes away the rest of the string noise and they stay new practically until they wear out.

If you go on Kazaa and download the 1999 Woodstock performance of #41, there's a scene where you can see his amp in the background. Looks like a Twin or something. Can't quite tell... maybe one of you experts can?

D'addario EXP's. I use EXP15's, which are the extra light gauge. They're coated like Elixirs, but have a little more texture so you have a little more control over your fingers. They're a couple bucks cheaper on average, too. Last a lot longer also.

Hell, you can't even tell it's there. Dave uses 'em. Another tuner to look into is the Boss pedal tuner. It's a great alternative to the DTR if you can't afford it.

Actually, I *believe* Dave goes through a POD and then straight into the PA whenever possible. This is what their road site says: Shure UHF Wireless System Meyer Sound CP-10 Parametric Equalizer Eventide GTR-4000 Ultra-Harmonizer Line 6 Guitar POD Korg DTR-1 Digital Tuner Not necessarily in that ord...

Well, before you go flipping the saddle around, make sure that the saddle isn't a compensated saddle. If the saddle is one straight piece all the way across, you're fine. But if the saddle has a litle notch at the B string that sets it off from the rest, you'll have to get a new saddle, because the ...

Take a gander into the Ibanez Artwood series. That's another great series of guitars to check out.

Well, a lot of Taylors are strung with extra light or light Elixirs from the factory. From what I've seen and played, Taylors respond much better to heavier gauge strings, which vibrate the top more and give more tone. Try a set of medium strings and see if you like the boost in volume and bass more...

A preamp essentially boosts the output of the piezo pickup (or whatever the case may be) and allows you to cut or boost certain ranges of the output. That's what the Bass, Mid, and Treble sliders or knobs are on the preamp. A built in chromatic tuner is nice, in the fact that you can just push a but...
