Dude, great job. Loved it. I grew up with that song and it is one of those....dare I say TIME-less songs that will work in any era....even though lauper, who was always kind of freaky, wrote it....actually I'm not sure if she wrote it or not...anyway, you have a great voice and did a great job on it.

Re: First original, please listen & critique: "Until"

Well I have to agree with tyler...most people don't comment unless they are really compelled to...ie they really have something good to say or are thoroughly impressed. With that said, I felt like the verses didn't match up. I understand you were using sort of a free form and not a perfect meter or ...

Based on the criteria (just messin around) I thought it was a really good recording. Vocally, I felt like you were trying to make your voice something it wasn't and if you would have "let it be" so to speak, it would have sounded better. Guitar and recording quality....awesome. I wish my recordings ...

You can learn about scales very easily, just search for guitar scales...there are a ton of sites that provide clear easy lessons, with tab that walk you right thru stuff......you just have to practice them. Also search for theory, etc. As well, there are a couple of videos that work on your vocal ab...

Thanks for all the great comments. While I am getting better on the production side, I hate it. All I want to do is write songs. I don't want to record them or woryy about geting a good vocal. I don't want to layer guitars or add drum beats....well maybe I'd like to add drum beats...if I had a kit. ...

I really like the guitar. It's easy to listen to, has a bit of hookyness to it. The vocal.....I'm not so sure about. It just didn't work for me man. The inflection you put at the end of each line isn't enough. I don't know if it needs to rhyme, or if the lyrics need to flow better, just seemed like ...

I don't personally keep a journal, but you could call my jottings, half written songs and simple phrases a journal. I always approach an interesting event, or saying with a song in mind. Sometimes I get the chorus and build around that, sometimes I write the first line, build off of that and then ho...

I really feel like you have something pretty cool. I enjoyed listening to it and I like some of the effects that you put on it. Your vocal is pretty good, should cut the P's into sections and lower the volume on them and/or get a pop filter. I'm starting to get very specific, because overall I like ...

Wow, I'm not sure where to start or what to think. Overall....It took me in and sort of had me mesmerized. The guitar had a latin twist and with the congos and the bass....and then the violin.....which seemed like it was played in a very classical style...I don't know. If you told me about all being...
