yeah, great song. it's one of the first i learned too play. i'm still working on singing along with it. my strumming tends to gradually speed up when i start singing. it sounds good playing solo.

Christmas song is really easy, especially 'cause you don't have to worry about strumming, which is always the hardest part for me. It's easy to sing to also.

Thanks for the help guys. I haven't quite figured out the strumming for the second alteration, but it helps to know that he makes for the difference in timing by hanging on to the Dsus2. Now I just need to practice it a lot. :?

Definitely a good idea to learn the basic chords, but I don't think its a bad idea to start off playing songs too though, even if they are a little above your ability level. If I had started out just learning chords I would have been bored off my ass. Trying to learn those tough dave songs has alway...

Since the original post was about fingerings, I'll say that I've always found it easier to fret the e and b strings with my pinky and ring fingers instead of barring them both with my pinky like dave does. Is this what you're referring to billywestom?

Guitar sounded great for only 9 months of playing. I've been playing about that long and I'm not that good. Vocals were a little weak and out of tune at times, but I'm sure they'll get better. Dude, how much do you practice?
