Re:
When Dave plays it live, he strums the verse a little more than he did in the studio. You could see it during the performance at the Grammies. He probably just throws a few mutes in there like this: [code]Intro/Verse |--------------------------------------------------------| |----------------------...

It's not ultimate-guitar because it is dedicated to DMB, in the same way this site is not ultimate-guitar... The only other difference I can see with the wiki format is instead of listing a bunch of tabs and their rating, there is one main tab that we all agree on and everybody tweaks. If we basical...

You could always just put the "First Page" button on you're toolbar. That is pretty damn close to a Table of Contents link, good enough for me.jsgksu wrote:Thats pretty cool man, thanks for doing that. Now if each had had a link to jump back up to the Table of Contents. Kidding, don't run off and do that.

Depends on how you're playing it. It is essentially just a rest for one foot tap in between D/G and the slides. Strumming on the rest isn't needed or required, as I think Dave just rests a lot of the time full band with no strumming. If you're playing it solo and just want to add some percussion the...

Re: You and Me
Damn, dude above me has it perfect. That is the first time I've seen it tabbed like that on here. The one that is posted in the Big Whiskey thread is wrong, in my opinion. Though I do disagree with this one part, ndfilth. I adjusted it to the way I play it. I fucked up the alignment a bit but it is ...

The best live version is of course from The Gorge! Either that or Dave + Tim from Luther College.

Re: SMTS help
It seems like you're holding your left hand too straight up when doing the first slide, and instinctively stopping at the 4 instead of the 5 because you want your pinky in place for the 5-5-5. Try holding your hand at sort of a 45 degree angle to the fret, which allows the tip of your middle finger ...

Re: Big Whiskey Tabs (so far)
Does anyone know what Tim plays during the prechorus of Spaceman? I can see his hands but they move far too fast! I can't figure it out for the life of me. I really want to know because it sounds so sexy. The 30 minute Big Whiskey documentary on Hulu has a good video of Tim playing it in studio for...

Re: Learning DMB
Learn Two Step, Grey Street, Lover Lay Down, PNP, Cry Freedom, #34, and Satellite. Once you have those down you should be pretty comfortable with the Dave style. If you've already been playing guitar for a while then you should be able to play Dave's songs fine, you just need to adjust to the unique...

Re: Help with famous Dave chords......
Yeah taparoo is right, I screwed up the explanation in my first post. It is just a different voicing of the same chord. D minor is that D note on the E string, then two F's played with it DFXFXX. You take the root note then taking the minor third and you get F and that is why you're playing 8 on the...

Re: Ants Intro Walk
Thanks Smedley, but I am actually looking for something different that that. It looks like Dave plays something along these lines.
