After her

Anybody have any idea if after her is played exactly like satellite? It sounds subtly different, but I can't tell if it's different notes or just a different rythm he plays. Any help?

Thanks,
Michael

after her is the song satellite evolved from. basically it's the satellite music but faster and more percussive and most of the lyrics are different. lyrics: Sun will shine, no matter what I do, sun shines bright now with you, what a wonderful thing for you to do Moon shines bright, reflections in h...

actually once you learn it you'll have a two for one because you'll have learned "after her" as well. I love playing it that way cause people are like "that's familiar I wonder where I've heard it?"

you can get the tabs here http://www3.sympatico.ca/g403z/ they are acurate As to playing it, it takes a bit to get it down. one of the keys to this song is palm muting the lower e and a strings don't let em ring free. also the chorus can be tricky on the chord changes, they are fast the rythm for th...

I agree he needs to use some more dynamic and unusual techniques. I think he's sorta in a rut now. Every hear blue water baboon farm? Boyd does a really cool solo using delay. It's beautiful but unusual and kinda creepy. Wish he'd do more like that.

I would like to say that ovations suck! Sorry had to get that out of my systems. It just irritates me when some people I've met go on and on about how great those gaudy flat sounding fiber glass buckets are.

I've seen some real nice Ibanez and Alvarez acoustics though (alvarez yari especially)

Re: Crash Strumming

I hit down on the bass notes, then alternate between down down up and down up down up on the parts following the bass notes...thats what it sounds an looks like to me...i think the only hard part about playing it this way is hitting the bass notes in rythm. I think the hard part is keeping that tri...

Pretty much, at least that's the way I play it. Basically just take satellite and make it your bitch, after her is alot more percussive, almost slap the strings. The vocal rhythms are a little different though. That's how I play it anyway. Hope it helps.
And I ask you this: What is the most influential.....inspiring....provocative.....beautiful.....and all around best song that the Dave Matthews Band has written in the 12 or so years or so that they've been playing for all of us? I Did It...
Man I laughed my ass ...

Pentecostly I am curious, apparently you have several multiplatinum albums of your vastly superior original music. Could you tell me the name of your albums I'd like to pick them up at my local record store next time I go. Get a life, we do these covers because they are challenging to play and we en...

Have'nt really tried fool to think, but crash I got after a while. It can be a little tricky to keep the triplet rythm and sing the melody. The hardest for me right now though would be so much to say.

I'm not sure about guitar center. If you have a luthier in the town where you live he should be able to hook you up. Probably cost about 5 to 10 bucks.
