Re: can anyone make up and away video?

I had this song down at one point, except the "Before you came.." part, and even that part was just a matter of not remembering the chord progression. Been to lazy to look up the tab until now, and as a result, haven't played this song in a while. I'll dust it off and see if I can't set to work on a...

Re: The Hideaway - Original Song

Hey guys. Took a look at the lyrics and decided there was indeed some fat that could be trimmed and still keep the meaning. I've posted the edited version. Still working on a different little progression to shake it up a little. Someone on ants.org suggested a different playing/singing melody as wel...

Re: The Hideaway - Original Song

Thanks for your insight. I'll definitely give it a look and see what can be done about changing it up a little somewhere.

The Hideaway - Original Song

One of my first orginals. If you guys have a minute, take a listen / have a look and let me know what you think. Good / bad / indifferent, just trying to get some feedback outside of what my friends are telling me (I think they might be a little biased  ) The Hideaway http://www.youtube.com/wa...

A few new originals

Hey y'all. Just looking for some feedback on a few songs I've written. The videos are up on YouTube, user name "riesendw"... (or use the link! http://www.youtube.com/user/riesendw ) I think "Pardon Me" and "The Hideaway" are probably the most 'polished', but you guys/gals tell me. :ehright: Haha, I ...

Doubtful, but anyway, just my opinion. I've played them and can't stand the way they sound.

I've downloaded a trial version of Cool Edit Pro, and on there, you can highlight a specific portion (or note) in a song, and just have it play on repeat while you find the note on your guitar. I assume you want to use this to figure out tab to a song? Just one thing I've done. Good luck!

Abso-freakin-lutely buy it. I finally got the balls to drop the dough for mine and I have not regretted it for a moment. It was / is my dream guitar as well, and I don't think I'll ever be replacing it... although several others are joining the collection shortly. :D

Haven't played a ton of Martins, but I love the clarity and snappiness (is that a word?) you get with Taylors. I wouldn't trade my 914 for a room full of Martins. Even DM3MD's. Haha. Like someone posted earlier though, it's all about the sound you're looking for. I think we can agree that Taylors an...

Haha, I was just reading an old post about the Chet. Haven't seen that bad boy since '00. I was lucky enough to see it's last known full-show performance on 7.5.00. I love the Taylors, but bringing out the Chet again would be a refreshing change. And you're right, definitely adds a different sound.

Dave obviously has many different variations of the guitars he uses for the song. 714, 914, 914 w/ capo... I have a 914, and I've played a 714... I dont know how it plays into Daves decision on which to use, but the main difference between the two is that the Cedar top on the 714 gives it a more "ba...
