Cakewalk or Speakers?

does any one here use Cakewalk Sonar ? Whenever I try to play anything on it, it gives me back a horrible sound. Ive tried it on other computers and it sounds fine, maybe its my speakers, but they work well with everything else i play on them. Is anyone a comp speaker expert, should i get monitors? ...
