Take the advice Max gave you. Just play as many as you can and just buy the one that sounds best to you. You might prefer one brand over another, just because Kahn doesn't like a Taylor does'nt mean you won't. I like both Taylor and Martins, but I prefer the Taylor sound.

The best thing to do is to keep playing as many guitars as you can. Play them without even looking at the price tag. You might prefer the Taylor 314 over a 714. I have played 3 guitars from the GS series. Rosewood/Cedar , Rosewood/Spruce, and Mahogany/Cedar. I thought the Rosewood/Cedar sounded best.
