i'd ditch that third chord, it sounds like pure ass, and i'm assuming that you mean the first/top number to mean the high e string since you referenced a Dm chord, anyway..... Chord 1 e -----5------------------- B -----6------------------- G -----7------------------- D -----7------------------- A --...

Like everyone else is saying, Dave doesn't really have any beginners songs. His songs for the most part, are downright hard to play and take a long time to master. I would definitely suggest working on common open chords to start with and work on your strumming. When I first started playing guitar, ...

i'll agree, Tripping Billies is just incredibly difficult to play, i'm not a singer, but i know it's hard enough to sing and play at the same time, so i imagine trying to play a hard ass song like that AND sing is very hard to do. The Stone is somewhat difficult as well. As for Two Step, i don't con...

I watched the show on AOL and could not believe he used a capo for sister. I have never ever seen David J. Matthews use a capo, i figured they were against his religion or something, he always just tunes his guitars funny to avoid using them. Anyhow, i saw him in Raleigh back in June and he played S...

larrivee's are gay, you're better off buying a guitar from Esteban, if they were worth a damn, then famous musicians would play them, the several i've played and heard were nothing special get a Taylor 714ce or a Takamine TAN16C with the cool tube preamp i don't know if you listen to Howie Day, but ...

well, in reference to the best band, DMB is def. in the top 10, that's hard list to compile but as for guitarists....have y'all not seen tim reynolds play solo? he's insanely incredible and more importantly....unmatchable there's no other guitarists like him, and he plays all kinds of styles, he's a...

i know you do not want to start off with The Stone or Tripping Billies, those two songs are incredibly hard to play, even if you don't play them like Dave does, The Stone especially is hard, go to you tube and check out the video of Dave playing it solo and you'll see what I mean Simpler Dave Songs:...

Sister
I would also advise against trying to play the song in standard. Like they were saying, the song is in Raised B tuning, like Oh and Stay or Leave, but with the low E string tuned to A. Dave writes these songs on a baritone guitar, it's not worth the time trying to tune to these tunings on a standard...
