It sounds great...Nice deep bass with clear highs...the mid range is very complex, which I love! Overall the sound is pretty loud and open, and the sustain just keeps ringing! (As I said in a previous post, it actually sustains longer and is a little bolder and louder than a buddy's hd28. that was c...

i dunno...I've had a lot of them for a while...the main tools you will need are glue and clamps, clamps, clamps and more clamps...the expensive tools are things like a router, chisels, scrapers, and little hand saw/knife thingy...but you can definitely build one of these on the cheap with minimal to...

Wow, not two seconds ago I just posted my finished acoustic guitar that I just built. Anyways, mine was from a kit from StewMac.com. It is the Spruce/Rosewood Dreadnaught kit. It was actually a great place to start for me, because the sides came bre-bent and the soundhole pre-cut, and neck pre-shape...

The Guitar I Built
Well, I thought I posted this at some point or another, but I guess not. I semi-recently (this past April) finished building a Stewart McDonald Rosewood/Spruce Guitar Kit. It took me about 3 full months of working 3 to 4 nights a week for a couple of hours per night. For those who don't know, it's b...

you might try to find a used d28 somewhere. I don't really know how low those get in pricing, but you may try it. Or you could build a guitar, and make it exactly as you like! If you have the tools and at least a general idea of using them, I'd say go for it. I did and it turned out magnificently. I...

i thought that was one of the worst tim solos ive ever heard... I agree. Both the shows before and after Radio City had epic Timmy Solos. I am assuming this particular solo was either done to play it safe so that he didn't make mistakes or it had something to do with the comment that was made in th...

^^ to add on to what was just said, most of the sound of a guitar comes from the soundboard (top), specifically the butt of the guitar. The sound hole is there to allow more vibration from the top and to reverberate the strings more directly from the back. This is why the bridge and saddle or genera...

use uncoated strings to sound more like that. granted you will have to change them more (once a monthish), but they really do sound great! and they are cheap. I personally use martin uncoated lights. Also, the pick you use makes a huge different in the sound coming from the guitar, obviously. And th...
