Capo's and Music sheets

When you use a capo, A G chord form is no longer a G, its an A correct (with a capo 2nd). Then when you read sheet music and it requires a capo on the second, and you see a G, is it a G shape that you play or do you have to find the correct G chord in reference to the capo?

Re: Recording beginner: Just some questions

I think I found an interface that would work better:
Lexicon Alpha USB
It has the Hi-Z input so that the guitar can be directly connected. But how are you suppose to hear the electric guitar?

Pentatonic progression and lead

I was wondering, what chords would you play during a lead that is based around the pentatonic scale. in other words, what chords are played for a pentatonic scale?

Re: Beginner guitar scales

I would say start with one of the pentatonic scales since they only involve 5 notes. Make sure that when your memorizing and practicing the scale you think about the notes your fretting, it will help you get acquainted with the fret board.

So acrylic paint will possibly stick to the polyshade ( wood stain and polyurethane in one). Blick art supplies sells craft paint that is acrylic that may work. Is there an easy way to get acrylic paint off without damaging the stain underneath?

Painting a guitar

I have this old ventura electric from the 80's that I want to rebuild and repaint. What I want to do is wood stain the back of the guitar with polyshade and then spray paint a stripe on the back of the guitar, much like the stripe on many acoustic guitars. The problem is that the when I spray paint ...

So does that mean that chord construction is directly related to the notes that are found on a particular scale? F maj Chord -> F maj scale ; Gm Chord -> Gm(natural?) Scale

Ibanez SRT Onboard Tuner

I just purchased a beautiful Ibanez AEF20 Classical Guitar. It is acoustic-electric and comes with an onboard tuner. I did not pay the tuner much attention at the store. When I got it home and tried to tune it I relized that I do not know much about guitar electronics. When i go to tune it you push ...

So, using the F scale, to find if the 5th note is maj or min i need to:
Look at the third from it->C D E->making it Major
Then look at the fifth from it->C D E F G-> making it minor
Then look at the seventh from it->C D E F G A Bb->making it minor
2 minors 1 major
making it minor
sound right?

Thanks for the reply. Another question has come to my attention, why are the II, III, and VI minor? Why is VII diminished? Is it like this for all major scales? what about the minor scale? Again, thanks for the help this is helping to make MT a little clearer. Also does G major chord fit in with F m...
