Re: It's been a while - here's a full band original

For the solo stuff, I used a condenser mic (M-Audio Nova) to record separate tracks for guitar and vocals. I layered them on one another. For the horn on the few tracks, i used an sm-57. I used garageband and there are virtually no effects. If I were to do the same thing now (this was recorded 4 yea...

Re: It's been a while - here's a full band original

Re: First Original. Please critique

right... the missed notes come with practice and comfort. but you really have to focus on the vocal melody. the guitar has to be beyond second nature so you can focus on your singing. overall, just keep playing. its good that you can recognize the imperfections afterwards. as you keep having experie...

Re: First Original. Please critique

Your guitar playing is spot on, and it doesn't seem to be affected by the singing (unless you did this on separate tracks - then that would explain it). You have a very dylanesque timbre to your voice. You embrace it well, but there are times where you lose pitch. Don't try to do too much with the v...

It's been a while - here's a full band original

Rather than having you guys download it, just go to http://www.theprojectboston.com/home I'd like to know what you think. Its from one of our recent shows and my buddy mixed in crowd noise for comedic effect. The vocals sit back in the mix, but the heart of the song is the instrumental progression 3...

Stay or Leave Cover

I didn't tune to raised B, because i didn't want to restring. But I had to record this for a friend - she's choreographing a dance to it to perform with me playing live and wanted to hear how it would sound.

Figured i'd let you guys take a listen.

New Original - Played with time signatures on this one

It's called "Neighbor's Wife" Lyrically, and melodically, its kind of a departure from lots of my other stuff.
