That kind of thread is so typical of the type that's on the fan boards these days. Everyone is so immature. I've stopped posting on pretty much all of them except this one. (I'm thewellander on Nancies and Ants, btw) Jkanter, you obviously spends a lot of time making these tabs and it's totally not ...

[quote="Alecks"]Chris_Newman - Butch sounds so loud (especially in L@FF) because of poor mixing, in my opinion. Butch is cranked up above anything. Hey, I'm having a similar problem right now, because I can't get the proper cables to hook my amp up to my computer. One thing you might try is to play through an amp and mic that. If you can make your sound very soft through the amp, it might help with the poor quality. Right now, I'm using a set o...

Hey, I'm glad this opened up such a great discussion. I think the videos are a great thing, or else I wouldn't be looking at them. There are some cases where my way of doing it was inefficient compared to the way jkanter (and presumably Dave) do it - such as the OSW intro. As for the Warehouse verse...

Stretch!!! :) Playing guitar is like learning a sport, you should stretch before, during and after you play and when you're not anywhere near your guitar. I always found that shaking my hands helped too. Cramping is something that you'll always be dealing with, but will get a lot better after playin...

The Videos are bang on, but....

Dave uses a lot of unnecessary movements when he's playing. I would suggest that anyone, especially beginners, who is learning this stuff, do not try to copy Dave's style. The videos are great guides, but I can't help but notice on a lot of Dave's songs that he tends to waste energy. A lot of the ti...
