Tabs are weak compared to sheet music... Where have I heard that before? Can someone please give a reason why tabs are so useless? Apart from inherent dislike, that is. As far as I'm concerned, if a sheet and a tab are both right then they are exactly the same, at least as far as learning is...

Carter plays a bunch of those groups of 16th notes on the cymbals (HH and RC), so I'm probably missing a couple, but the one I've written are ones I'm sure of. Also the outro is pretty much a guess as to which toms they are. close enough though  Dave Matthews Band Jimi Thing Intro – 0:00 /----...

I can't really take much credit for this one. I got it off MxTabs, and it was pretty much like it is now. Don't remember who wrote it though. Hmm. Intro required. A [tt] under two notes means they are played as a triplet with the middle note missing, i.e. ONE and A . A [TT] means it's a full triplet, ONE AND A . BK just about died when he saw this, but that's the way it is. If you don't like, just delete the t's and play it with a ...

DMB Drum Tabs
Greetings. This thread has sprung up as a result of THIS one, where the general consensus is that sheet music is the way to go, but tablature should be put up as well for people who find it more convenient (like myself). I guess I should say that this is not a thread for arguing about how bad and po...

That'd be a bummer if you didnt have a color printer  . Either sheet music or tabs, I think this could be a good idea for the site. If you want, you can post drum tabs in a sticky thread in the other instruments forum, so those who aren't about sheet music can check it out. By the way, its gre...

i'm not a drummer...but i have a questoin. from looking at that sheet music you put up, how do you know which one of those bars is which part of the kit? is there a set thing? Yeah, if you were a drummer and you'd seen sheet music before you'd know. Except maybe for a couple of cymbals. [img]http:/...

I've read this thread a bunch of times. Would any of you drummers be willing to write out sheet music for any dmb songs? I like the idea of drum tabs...100%...but I understand a purists thoughts on how it's useless. It can go either way. Bottom line is all drummers read sheet music so I'd be more t...

I dislike the fact that they are presented in the mildly retarded manner that you are making. Well that's alright, as long as you don't object to them in principle anymore. I really don't understand why you hate tabs so much. They aren't supposed to be professional manuscripts, nor musical works of...

Why not learn some basic music theory. Learning how to at least understand note value in standard notation. Really doesnt take that long. And it WILL prove to be more valuable. And I never said it was wrong, but I actually never looked through it because just trying to see how things relate to othe...

Right, so maybe you should just leave it to standard notation to show note value instead of TT and tt and X I COULD leave it to standard notation, but how would I learn it then? I'm not about to write out the whole song by hand, and I haven't got any software to turn the tab into standard notation....

What kind of sheet music have you been playing? And after looking at that tab, Im begging JKanter to not allow TAB. That whole idea of tt representing a triplet....wow. No offense to Mr. Pie, but common. I'll be honest about the sheet music... very little. Either the simpler music that doesn't need...
