STAY OR LEAVE

Hello all, I´ve been trying to play Stay or leave without the Capo, but I just want to be sure about the tuning. Is it possible to raise the E string to B???? It is 3,5 tons to get to the B. My doubt is regarding the tension on the guitar neck and head stock. Does Dave uses this tuning? Thanks a lot
