I play the correct way but a friend of mine who plays lead in a band plays with the thumb and middle finger and doesn't seem to have a problem doing anything. It looks alittle weird like he's playing with a fist but you can't argue with results.

im not exactly sure what u mean by modes ...but ive been trying to teach myself and the only thing i do is play the same notes as the strumming pattern only down on the bottom strings near 12...but it doesnt sound that good I'm guessing that when you go to solo you would play 'D' at X|X|12|14|15|14...

Not that I know of. But you can get a mixer and a mic for a descent amount of money. It seems to me you almost always get what you pay for if you do you research. If you pay $100 bucks for a condenser mic. And what ever amout for a mixer. Depending on your playing ability you will get that amount of...

I'd suggest getting a mixer as well, just make sure it supplies the phantom power that the mic needs.

[quote="pele0069"]i wnat to leanr how to solo, because i cant learn this on my own for some reason well you dont exactly just 'learn how to solo' in 2 minutes and youre done as you learn scales, you should practice playing lead along with songs and get good enough at just playing lead so that you c...

Just record 30 seconds of no sound and decrease the speed a couple times [Effects Menu]and presto you have 6 minutes of recording time. I just save this blank sound file as a template and reuse it over and over again just using the save as menu option to rename the file once I have recorded.

If it's just a matter of recording yourself you could use the sound recorder accesary. This doesn't have a wide variety of opions but if your using a desktop mic you probably aren't aiming for a professional quality recording anyway.

Yah I've seen people try to play barre chords with out that extra support and they just end up muting half the chord.
