i personally would get a tube amp. They are worth the exra money. I got my fender hot rod deluxe for 400 used on craigslist.

i use dunlop 1.14 mm gator picks right now, but the grip stuff goes away after some time. Maybe I'll try these picks.

I too am looking into recording and I first getting started. I want to mic my amp rather then record straight into the computer. Am I better off with a condensor mic or another mic (dynamic maybe?)? Anyone?
