broke a string g string

I just broke my very first string. I was playing Stay and all of sudden the G string just broke at the bridge. Is that bad that it broke at the bridge? Also, when I get new strings should I just replace the G or should I replace all of them? These strings are 2 weeks old and I play about 1-2 hrs alm...

I think it's best to start off with simple up and down strokes (heh heh) when first learning. You can't really get into Dave sounding stuff until you have a firm grasp on the basics. I agree it took me quite some time to be able to strum Ants Marching. I remember I started playing by picking ...

It is definately all about finding the right teacher. My teacher is an awesome guitarist and is a great teacher. He has a lot of knowledge. I can play DMB better than he can though but he plays Hendrix and Clapton like its his job. Which is good because it is getting me into more styles of music.

I want to be able to record directly to my computer. I was thinking about buying a M Box with the factory bundle. They are cheaper now because the M Box 2 came out. I think Pat uses one and his recordings are awesome. Also I want to get AKG Perception 200 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Mic, does anyone k...

I read frets.com and it really helped me a lot. That is a really good site. They said it doesnt matter and it is just a false tale that if you take all the strings off at once you will shock the neck unless you let the guitar sit with no strings for a really long time. Its so much easier to do it th...

Changing Strings

I am going to change my strings today but I have a quick question before I do. Should I take one string off at a time and then replace it to keep the tension on the neck? Or it doesnt matter if I just take them all off at once and then replace them?
