would be interesting to see abalone AND herringbone. Definately overkill though. Wonder if it's been done?

They were made in RI before the company was sold apparently. Guitar store guy said the quality went downhill significantly. Most old Guilds sound very good, especially the 12's, wasn't impressed with new ones, even higher end.

That guy played at the metro in Montreal for awhile. he plays in a park in montreal now during the summer. His tabs are on his site and he communicates quite a bit with his fans on his forum.

How much time do you think it takes to learn that style and compose somethign like that?

tnx for the info. I had checked elderly... good prices there too. I'll either buy from there or myfavoriteguitars.com. Shipping is about $100 to Canada and then taxes (7%). no duties though - NAFTA. I don't see myself trading it in later (100$ shipping each way!), so I don't think I'll go through bu...

FYI: just called Buffalo Bros. I didn't haggle or anything, but their price was $1950 for the HD... so my dear Florida salesman is still $100 cheaper. I've heard good things about his service too. So if someone is looking for a Martin or a Gallagher, I think he's the guy to beat. (http://www.myfavor...

Sell cheap, boost volume, make lots of money too. They are the 3rd biggest martin dealer in the world, so I assume they do go through alot of gear. I am also skeptical of the 10% though. If this price (1850) really was 40% it would mean that many canadian stores sell for over 100% profit. Greedy bas...

You really think its at least 40% markup? The owner told me 10%, but he could be lying. The price is much better than any store I've been to though.

Where is the "Save the money because I'm going to med school" button? I told myself I would buy myself a sweet martin if I got into med school as a reward. I'll just skip on a couple of books (j-k). Seriously though, I want a better guitar... since I sold my Taylor 810, my Norman B-20 just ain't cu...

I knew someone would say that (save for school). I probably should, but won't. I figure I was able to graduate without a student debt (bachelors and grad school) and I actually worked a year full time, so I do have some funds to buy it. I'm sure when I'm done med school the debt will be ~$75G... why...

my last name is Roy... and I actually play in goal. Not as much anymore, but competitively until I left for school. I agree, the d-28 and hd-28 are identical in the way they play... but I see a difference with the HD's sound... much boomier. I'm surprised no one has picked the D-40! For my skill lev...

thanks guys... a consensus already! That guitar is nuts. I have never tried the hd-28v... have any of you compared with the regular hd-28 (there is probably a post somewhere). Does the forwarded bracing make a diff?
