I got a Crate Gunnison for like $250. I like it, but you should play through the amp (or the same model) before you buy it. Find what sounds good to you for what you are willing to pay and get that.

Has anyone used the Elixir strings for electric guitars. I got an electric recently and it is time for some new strings. I like the nano's for acoustic, but haven't heard anything about the electric versions.
