Alright...well to hear an ebow...listen to Coldplay on Rush of Blood album to song Daylight...the opening riff (and that used throughout) is done with an ebow

true...but for someone who hasn't seen or heard it before...the magnet is probably a better visual description...and the bow is a better sound description.

a hand-held, battery-powered, electronic bow for guitar. It gives a spacey kind of feel to the guitar. Its about like a slide ...but obviously different

Oh Heck yeah...an Ebow is tight. Howie Day and Cold play use it a lot. Gives a very cool feel to a song. Do you use one?

What Pick do u use?

This is such a user preferance question..thought it might be fun. What pick size do you use for Dave songs? Songs with a lot of muting and strumming such as Gray St, Warehouse, 2step, etc...I've always liked playing with a .46mm on its side. I like the tone it gives. I use a .71mm on pick style song...

Are you trying to play it like Dave and using four fingers are you just using two and sliding up and down the neck? Naw, your not missing anything about not being able to see the muting actually happen. When it is done well, it is effortless and is not visible. Also, as Kukini pointed out in an earlier post, there are different ways to mute the strings. YOu should experiment and find what is most comfortable for ...
