Re: Which guitars Dave uses for album recordings?
I know he used his black Gibson at the first albums. Does anyone know what he uses for the latest albums? You talking about the chet? Doubtful, that guitar sounds like ass mic'd. My guess would be he used his lakewood quite a bit early on and now uses his signature martin. Just a ...
Shows the maturity of this board, it's like buying beers for 10 year olds and having them storm out of DMB shows because they didn't play something on the radio. I agreed with you until right there. I don't even know what that means.
I dunno either. It's like you can't raise ...

Re: Open D tuning w/o detuning
I really want to try to play Leo Kottke's version of Little Martha, but it requires open D tuning and I hate detuning my guitar because then I have to retune it to play anything else. I want to be able to just pick it up and play. Does anyone know if it's possible to get open D using multiple capos...

Those are all direct quotes from Jean Larrivee in my post. I think HE knows what he is talking about. Sure, but CF Martin or Bill Collings have a different view on things and i can reference them as well...and THEY know what they are talking about. Again, apples to a...

Re: ***How to Care for your Guitar***
I posted this in another thread, but I've added a lot to it since then. [u]Summer Actually, you shouldn't keep a guitar in it's case during the summertime. In the summer (at least in the states where it gets pretty warm) you should keep your guitar on a stand away from a window. You should, however...
So....I think I have this problem on my HD-35. I always thought my low E never sounded quite right. If I play it open it's in tune, if I fret the 12th it's about 16cent off. Intonation problem? I've taken this guitar to a guitar tech in town a few times now for various things. He was...

I have a 50 watt Ultrasound acoustic amp that i got for around $400-$450 (can't remember) that I love. You might want to consider that one. The new models come with 1/4" and xlr inputs for guitar as well as a vocal xlr input. T714....what do you think of the Ultrasounds? I don't have enough "playin...

just rub the fretboard with steel wool. It will solve your problem. Scrub hard. Use paint thinner for lubrication. your sarcasm aside, the fretboard is actually the next step to tackle if the saddle can't be corrected...leveling the fretboard and leveling the frets are the next couple of steps, but...
