I've heard the best thing to use to condition a fretboard is bore oil. You can get it from any music supply store, look for it in the band instrument section... more specifically, the clarinet section.

My new toy

Just got home with my new Taylor 310L30. 30th Anniversary edition with the Koa rosette and wormwood inlays. Bought it ever-so-lightly used from my local Taylor dealer for [u]$600 [/b]. I mean, this guitar doesn't even feel or look like it has been played. The case looks brand new, and the guitar sti...

[quote="Mjazk26"]Nice guitar.. Question.... Besides asthetics what is the most notible difference between the 900 series and say a 700 series as far as sound goes. Obviously the guitar is absolutley beautiful and I'm sure everyone would like to have one but I'm wondering what the difference in soun...

I'd definitely at least bike-lock the case to something heavy in my room, for sure. Either that or make sure you lock the door when you go out. But hey, I'm taking all my guitars when I go, including my Am-Delux Strat and my Taylor. Gotta leave the amps at home though, I'm sure the rest of the dorm ...

Make sure to keep plenty of water on stage, and if you feel the LEAST bit thirsty (I recommend after every song) be sure to drink plenty of water. I have gone through several 1.5hr+ sets without losing my voice, and we've occasionally covered stuff like #41, etc. where there's some just flat out har...

Cheap dynamic mics run straight to an unbalanced 1/4" out.

Nice dynamic mics run to an XLR, just like upper end condensers and such.

Try to not accentuate that first note in the slide down after the 555 on the GBE strings... smooths the whole riff out and makes it better sounding.

Overall, sounds sweet. I like the other strings.

I have to say, I've owned two 314ces now, and I honestly like the sound of the 314s over the sound of the many higher end models I've played (7-8-914ces, 4-910s, you name it).
