VH1.com used to have a live recording of it up.
not sure if they still do or not.
The key to the rhythm is getting your thumb in the right place to do the "slaps" strong enough and have it prepared to play the next note.
The chords really aren't that hard, making it groove is the key.

Dreadnaughts are designed for a much deeper, richer tone than the Grand Auditorium style Taylor he playes.
This alone can explain the difference in tone. Amplification and processing also can have alot to do with it. Even if the strings are the same.

Flamenco "Rasguado" as it is called is sort of an art in itself. I had some lessons with a Flamenco player many moons ago, and it was all enlightening compared to what I was doing. To learn the technique you need to start very slow. Curl up your hand, like making a fist. Extend each finger, pinky, r...

I've had a flute player sit in with me on several occasions. It's a great combo on #41.

I've been a fingerpicker for ever, playing flamenco, classical, and steel string (takes the biggest toll on the nails). Keeping them shaped, smooth and a consistant length is very important. I shape them and then use the files that have the 3-4 grades of abrasive to really smooth out the playing sur...

I really like the LIOG jam, KKJ is also fun to rock on.
Ant's funk jam (where Boyd solos in middle)
You can do a lot with JT, lots of places to improvise and embelish.
Non Dave: Rio Ancho by Al Dimeola and Paco DeLucia is a great Flamenco/Spanish sounding progression.

Wow, really why would you post in a "critique" forum and then have a hissy over what others heard in your performance. If your not willing to try new things and/or listen to what others have to say, it "In my opinion" tends to make you a very one dimensional musician. Ya think the band never told Da...

Ahhhh why would you play an A harmonic minor scale
over an E groove?? A minor is basically C major with
A as the root. C major with an E root is E phrygian.
A really kool scale to solo with on this is E Bhrairav.
Gives a very middle eastern feel!

A good teacher is going to take you a lot farther in a shorter period of time(if your diligent in your practicing). Providing instruction in technique, performance, and muscianship. It's up to you to evaluate if he's the right guy and worth the money. It also depends greatly on what your going to a ...

I usually play em as bar chords. one, because I'm not Dave, two, it's a lot less hand movement when playing and singing. Still sounds pretty good. I can also play it a bit more precussive with the bar chords when I want. I play the open G D when I do the jam in the middle with the minor 7th chords (...
