Find a reputable teacher, interview them before you give them a dime. Block off time to practice whatever they teach you and it should not take that long to get to a point where you don't sound aweful (not annoying). After that, its up to you how far you want to take it. Oh, buy a keyboard if you do...

Like a lot of Dave tunes, im amazed at how different they can sound because of right hand technique.
