blue merle

Saw them open for Dave this summer and loved them. Not too many tabs on the internet, in fact only three that I could find. I'm looking to tab out "stay", and I need some help. This is what I've got so far, but the next few chords are just barely different, and I can't figure them out. Anyone? F# F#...

Pete Townsend [b]I think David Gilmour is overrated too.
i can honestly say i've never heard anyone say that before - he's awesome, really passionate solos for real, i dont see how you can consider Gilmour overrated when most average rock listeners dont ev...

Intro and, consequently, the rest of the song, sounds very no such thingish, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think you could use some variety in the your strumming patterns and even a little more in your progression. Voice is darn good though. Keep strummin!

It's funny you mention Everybody Wake Up, that happens to be the song that I like the lyrics of the most. The reasons are kinda personal, so I can imagine why most people would find it unimpressive. I think on his more recent albums he's just sitting down and writing what he feels, rather than tryin...

Yea, I've always used martin marquis, they never seem to break on me, but get worn down pretty easily. Like I said before, I have a fairly frequent problem of having the fret cut the copper off the string so it rattles around, but that might be due to bad technique also  . I'll admit that the ...

Stupid Elixers

Been playing guitar for 5 years and never tried Elixer strings. I strum abnormally heavy and always have a problem with my strings not snapping, but actually cutting the copper wrapping and having it slide around and buzz. So I decided to shell out the $12 for elixers cuz they're supposed to "last l...

This may be strictly for Martins (though I would think wood is wood, and would sounds the same no matter the manufacturer), but their custom catalog pdf they list a buncha different types of woods available for sides and backs, and then tops, and what their tone are comparitively. Heres the link: ht...

Geez, why you have to keep ruining everyone fun! Obviously replacing Dave wouldn't be feasible for any of us, but it's a hypothetical question. Just let people pad their egos for a sec would ya?

This is an interesting album. Almost none of the songs are typical, because most only incorporate a few instruments at a time. A lot of the famed jam songs like Two Step, Ants Marching, and Trippin' Billies are deemed classics because they incorporate all the instruments. Pretty much the only song o...

ehh, I'm not so sure I completely agree. While you cannot argue that Justin King is any less talented than any of those "Teenie Boppers" it's isn't their fault that he is less popular. His style is very unique, such that, it won't be mainstream. I imagine if he was mainstream and the teenie boppers ...

wait im confused, did they donate this guitar to the woman, or did they put it up for auction so the proceeds would go to her? it seems a little not cool to immediately put a gift up for auction.

hahah, I knew someone was gonna say that ;) . The verse is technically harder, but the chorus uses more finesse, something harder to mimic than just straight notes. the bridge is fine I guess, I forgot about that part. but yea, couple that all with the fact that I've spent so much more time practici...

I've never used elixer strings. Is the greatest upside that they last longer? I use martin marquis because they're cheap and they sound pretty good to me. In my usage, I usually have to replace strings not because they snap, but because the copper gets cut on some strings and unwinds itself so the s...
