you really shouldn't get stuck on patterns anyway. it will sound like the correct mode when applied to the chord progression. for example: if you play a I-IV-V in the key of D and you run the scale it will sound like D-major (ionian). if you play a ii-IV-ii it will sound like an E-dorian. if you kno...

with respect, technically, only men have falsetto, so it is not really considered head voice. also, there is a middle voice, not just chest and head. if anyone is interested, there is a distinction because you feel the vibrations in different areas. when in your head voice you should feel vibrations...

make sure that you aren't straining your throat. when it comes time to hit your falsetto try and make the sound lighter, if you force it, it will sound like shit. you just want to ease up a little. also make sure that your larynx is lower in your throat and not bouncining up and down. you know jack's been playing since he was fifteen. so as far as experience goes, he's got plenty. i figure he just hasn't studied futher than barre chords and blues progressions. he has a few cool fills and solos though, like the intro to Taylor.

i'm sure that'd be kinda difficult but a search engine for the boards would not be remiss. i don't know how many times i've come to the boards after a long sojourn, and wondered if anybody was talkin' about issues that i've come across.
