Hey, and I thought I was the only one! I have an intro I love to So Much to Say. I start with this chromatic jam I ripped off the Jimi Thing jam of Listener Supported and segue it into SMTS.

Shane, you must have tabbed that wrong, since the tab you put sounds awful. The first chord would sound a lot better as an A (instead of the A7 you have) and the last chord you have is a C and a C# - the real chord is a Bm which contains a B and a D. Did you by any chance tab that chord upside down?

Listen to Red Rocks, where Dave uses the Chet. The guitar tone sounds like SHIT compared to, for example, Listener Supported, where he uses a Martin. The Chet is ass, but it looks cool.

That explains what fingers Dave uses, but it doesn't mention him not putting in the bass note (which I believe he does). It's not like you'd really be able to tell from videos, since he would finger it differently, since it's just an open string.

A chords

jkanter, I find your A chords kinda funny. You always write them as e--- b-2- g-2- d-2- a--- e--- but 99% of the time, they are played like this e--- b-2- g-2- d-2- a-0- e--- I guess it's tough to tell if Dave plays with the low A, but I presume he does (except maybe with Cry Freedom when that finge...

Sometimes I think Dave could play it more practically. Warehouse is an example of a song that could be fingered differently and sound EXACTLY the same. Chris_Newman - Butch sounds so loud (especially in L@FF) because of poor mixing, in my opinion. Butch is cranked up above anything. Listen to any ve...

This post is a little old, but I'll add to it. dbernard - I have the Farm Aid video of Satellite and Dave uses all downstrokes. For a lot of Dave's songs I originally thought would be up-down he just uses down, like Tripping Billies, R&R, Ants, WWYS, Satellite, etc. He does use up-down for the OSW w...

The Nature Intro got it's name because a long time ago, he once sung some stuff about nature in it.

---5--------------
---x-3-2h3-2h3------
-3-3---------------

You can see him go down the fretboard to do that.

I just finished learning Bartender and it was the easiest song for me to learn so far. Only have to worry about 2 strings. There is muting but it's very easy to do. And it's a Dave classic to boot. But I have yet to learn Typical Digging a Big Eyed Fish so I can't really compare it to those. Now to...

Guitar playing is definately good. The singing is not so good, but I think it has potential. It doesn't sound like you are letting yourself go at all. It sounds almost formal. Like you're trying to sing in a voice that doesn't come naturally to you. Also, you also are enunciating (that is probaby ho...
