Re: SDL - 6/21 Tim Outro w/ Link

Here's a video of it at Rothbury. I'll try to find some more http://youtube.com/watch?v=OzXqAIVz_1I Just watched this and for it being my first viewing of the band playing Corn Bread, I must say I do like it a lot. As for tabbing Tim's slide solo... I wouldn't be able to do it justice. Play around ...

Re: SDL - 6/21 Tim Outro w/ Link

Since you did an amazing job with this do you think you could try tab the parts and slide solo Tim has been playing during Cornbread For the slide stuff on SDL, watch that vid again. He's playing a slide on D from 9/11 and then on B from 12/22 amongst other things. Just stay in Emaj and play what s...

Re: Official Latest Show Thread

Thank You, really? It's a fun tune but please stop closing with it. What a boring encore for an otherwise decent show.

Re: Dave: "I'm not really good at tuning my instrument"

I thought they all chuckled at the innuendo of "tuning my instrument" and that it had nothing to do with the guitar. I have the DVD and the look he throws after it also suggests that he's not referring to the guitar.

Re: Strumming single notes (One Sweet World)

So I read the lesson page where it says Dave has the ability to hit single nots while strumming. So then on the verse riff for One Sweet World, are you basically muting the other 5 strings while you strum? Does that mean you are selectively changing the pressure just slightly depending on w...

I posted what I saw him playing on Abbey Road. He does what you posted live and on the CD. He may have played it both ways at Abbey, but I just saw the variation I put up, which I like more anyways because it gives it more power when its solo acoustic.

You're staying in key, but try to keep focus of the melody you're creating when improvising. Try to resolve melodies by concluding phrases on the 1st, 3rd, or 5th of the scale. You're using slides, but also try hammer-ons, pull-offs, and harmonies to add substance. And about the "gay" guitar licks ...
