yeah the slower temp may be your problem. and graves is right, listen to the sax. in the intro, leroi always beings that low sustained note the same time dave playes the 5....maybe that will help

and also,

music theory is not mumbo jumbo, its a valued tool to learning and progressing as a musician!

No he means that the actual rhythm that is played is wrong.
Sometimes its really off.
the tripping billies verse video is a good example.
the guitarist in the video isnt playing with a steady beat.
its going to throw any new guitar off that hasnt yet got a feel for a steady beat in their head...

well i must disagree with gravedigger. the 5 is at the start of the measure, you can think of it differently if u want, but realistically you have to think of the song in perspective with the band. if dave just played the 5 whenever he wanted, the band would always be in sync. the 5 comes on the fir...

i think the best thing to do is practice hitting the notes, and playing in time...you can add the soul and mutting and all the extras after you have the basics down.

true, its a fine line i guess. But I would think that dave doesnt write about things that he doesnt believe or want to invest interest in....at least to some degree

so if it looks like a duck, writes about ducks, and sings about ducks, its probably dave!

What is everyone's hand size?

I have really big hands...(size 14 shoe).(.......and I won't even mention the size of my jimi thing........) uh, and by jimi thing i mean arm length, of cour...
