I have a question for all you bass players. If you dont play in a band, What do you do with your bass? Just play riffs? I am not being sarcastic either. For example, If Im at a party & there is a guitar there I can play, people sing & have a good time. Whereas, if i was a Bass player that wouldnt b...

2 years for me. learn your theory. This does not just mean some scales and the notes on the fretboard. You can get good without it, but down the road youre going to look back and say "if only I studied theory way back then." I guanetree it. Learn chord spelling, the circle of fifths, reading/writtin...

Wireless Systems

Hey guys, do any of you know of some cheap wireless input systems that I can use for my bass? I'm really getting sick of all the messy cords, and how i have to sotter my input all the time as a result of them. I'm not sure if it has to be built into your EQ or if you can just place a reciever in you...

i have a crappy fretless that i use off and on for ear training. no lining and no octaves, use it basicly for ear training....personally i would only get one if you have a fretted bass that your 100% happy with and same goes with amp cause i really dont see it as money well spent unless you have tha...

Bela FLeck and the Flecktones - Almost 12

Hey guys, working on this line. I spoke with Anthony Wellington on the phone earlier (Vics best bud and bass technician) and he gave me a tip for it. Almost 12 is called almost 12 cause the time signature is 11/8. So maybe thatll help you guys in helping me if you get the time. I've gotten only a ti...

futureman & the flecktones

people really gotta give him more credit....i know of a lot of drummers who hate him mainly because they can't play most of his stuff because of his drumitar. i think the guy is extremely inventive, original and well rounded - i mean thats what the flecktones are really. Musicians pushing boundaries...

I'm not really sure what your talking about - i mainly just play the song with my right hand really loose and for some of the muting parts and strumming parts use the upper parts of my fingers. id really suggest you buy the book, hes got every last bit of the song tabbed out. Or go and just look at ...

i stayed up till sun-up learning "you cant hold no groove" - such an awesome song. in my opinion is loads better live than on his cd. Buy vics dvd, Victor Wooten live at bass day 98, some awesome stuff in that dvd.
