Sorry, let me be a little more specific... It's a Godin Norman B-20. It's not completely unfisinshed but has a very thin laquer finish.

Well, considering DM dosen't do alot of soloing, I suggest listening to some other guitar players too!! Some of the best solo players are blues guys like Buddy Guy or Eric Clapton. I myself prefer John Mayer. His solo's are completely pop with some influences from blues. And his solos are very harmo...

Time for some educated contreversy. Big no no. Never take all the strings off your guitar. It's true that guitars are made with a "bow" and the truss rod is there to resist the tension of the strings. I once took all my strings off before I took my guitar in for a tune-up, and the first thing the lu...

I personally have a guitar that is very close to completely unfinished. I kinda liked the raw look of the guitar, although just recently I found a small chip in my soundhole. :x Although I really like the unfinished look and the really nice tone on my guitar, I'm pretty sure my next guitar is gonna ...

From the looks of it, it sounds like your guitars intonation is off and needs a tuneup. If you can't get the guitar in tune using your tuning head, the most common problem is your intonation. You should bring your guitar in to a luthier or guitar store and get them to fix your intonation.

You know what, buddy... Since you're just getting a guitar to bring to college and you've only been playing for a year, I recommend you bring in your Yamaha for a tune-up instead of footing out cash for a new one. Bring your guitar in to a guitar store, and ask them to lower the action on your guita...

I'm only 5'6 and I've got a dreadnaught!! But yeah, the neck of the guitar is the most important thing in your case. My guitar has an even bigger neck than most guitars, and I'm managing pretty well although I do regret not getting a smalleer neck. In the end though, it's really all about practicing...

Yeah, there's a huge difference in the resonace of meduim and light guage strings. Heavier guage strings usaually give a deeper, "fatter" sound. The most important thing when chosing a guage of string is sacrificing tone for playablilty. I'm guessing Dave likes extra light guage strings because they...
