Alright.. thanks for all the help. The setup is basically just for getting started, I'll upgrade as time goes on. The Yamaha was one that looked good as well... does it have phantom power? If the preamps are good, it might be worth it. For inputs.. I'm just planning this for home recording, guitar, ...

Novice mixing board suggestions?

Working on a budget novice recording studio for my computer So far, I've ordered a B1 Studioprojects all-purpose mic and an Audiophile 2496 soundcard, both to the great help of other forums and friends. Now, I'm on to the mixing board. What I had inmind was a Behringer UB802 8 input- it's $50, great...

Battle of New Orleans fingerpicking tab

Need one for an AP US History class :D Any good finds? I know the chord version, but one along the lines of the Chet Atkins version would be much better.

I'd probably end up with Granny... just cause I know how to play it perfectly well. JTR would kick ass, but dunno how that would go over... Oh! I'd play Light Lift Me Up :D

Can anyone name some good shortbread warehouses outside of that solo performance? That's an awesome one though...

You live in Newington? Head down to Danbury to East Coast Music Mall Very good place for basses, but this one guy was a real ass to me about the high-end acoustics. -_- All sorts of shit about how they were too expensive for me to think about, and he kept telling me they were selling at retail pric...

Beginner Synths- Keyboards

Just looking around for one, trying some out tomorrow... any reccomendations for a good beginner-ish Keyboard? Should be pretty sophisticated... I just don't really know what I'm looking for, only what I used. MIDI banks, custom sounds, a record option, stuff like that, and not a cheap, gaudy one :/...

Oh, and what's the difference between the Seymour-Duncan pickups of the LG and the humbuckers of the HMB?
Inspired by classic, all-mahogany electric guitars, we equipped the LG with two Seymour Duncan SP-90 single coil pickups.
I'm asking about the difference in sound or qualities b...

They really are great guitars... I'm just debating how to spend the money. I can't find a used satin finish, and it has a very high resale... so, I think that's a great electric to go for. Any amp reccomendations less than $250 that I can use pedals with? Edit: Oh, and what's the difference between ...

Advice on Godins/LG HMB

So, here's the conundrum. I can get a $500 new satin-finish Godin LG HMB at an independent store. I have $250 I have to use at a Sam Ash (This is before I check out their stock, haven't been in a while) so I was thinking of using that to get an amp. Now, if I don't use the $250 at Sam Ash for a guit...
