i watched the movie over the weekend and noticed how dave doesn't even play anything below the G string in the main part.. (i.e. he's not fretting the G at 3)...he's just using his first and pinky finger and using his other two for muting. i fooled around and came up with a different tab for it. i u...

Can you tune the E to G.....
without it snapping?
somebody came up with a tab for J. Johnson's "The Cove" and he has it with a G bass note through the whole thing.
the tab actually says to do it, but i dunno. and i don't wanna test it.
anybody ever tried it? i've never gone more than a half step.

it's a wierd situation, because i actually like the 65 better, and it's a cheaper guitar. but the 65 that the first store has is perfect, and so it costs more than the "almost perfect" 80s that the second store has. (there's actually 3 of them, the worst one has two very visible scuffs on the top an...

upon further research and recollection...i've determined that the guitar i picked up today and like so much is the MD65 http://www.stevesmusiccenter.com/AlvarezMD60Big.jpg loved the way this thing sounded, although i didn't get to play that long before a salesman started bothering me. i don't recall...
