Alpine
I've only been to four Dave shows, so I'm no expert, but the Saturday show in 2004 at Alpine was the best concert I've ever attended in my life. The energy was just amazing. Bartender was insane, the encore of Typical Situation followed by Warehouse was the perfect end to an amazing night. Also seei...

#41 help
Having trouble with the rhythm on #41. I've got LOLC but I can't seem to pick up the pattern dave is using. It sounds like D-UD-D-U-DUDU, and you have to strum very fast the last four strums to keep up. It sounds ok but not quite right. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think it's safe to assume that at least any computer literate member of the band occasionally checks out what is posted on the web about them. as this is one of the more popular dmb forums, it's liekly I think. If Dave is not computer literate, maybe he's not out here. For one it's for security to...

I think it probably depends on where you live. I live in Chicago and in only 2 very cold and dry months last year, I screwed up the neck on my guild acoustic leavin it out. $50 to fix was a cheap lesson learned. I thought I would not play as much if it was not out, but that was not the case. I do mi...

I was advised by a teacher to at first just try to make any noise while you're playing. Even just holding an 'ah'. Gradually work on changing the tone of that to sound like the music. Then try the words. I still have a terrible time with singing basically because I've never had any training in how t...

Cutouts
I noticed Dave's signature Martin does not have a cut out. On songs like Stay or leave where he is up on the 15th to 17th fret how the heck, how does he play it?

humidifiers
While it is nice to keep your guitars out so you can pick them up whenever you get the feeling, they are a very delicate instrument especially in cold climates, and highly susceptible to dry air. I was told by a professional to always keep it in the case and with the humidifer in it, when not playin...

Knockin on Heavens Door. Easy to play but very cool. GNR did a nice version of it too, as Dylan's is quite mellow. Also to Dusty, Wonderwall is great but the rhythm guitar literally plays the same four chords over and over and over and over, even through the chorus. Now I'll admit it I became obsess...
