Re: Buying a Bass
What do you guys recommend for a short-scale bass? I want something more than a $199 piece of shit. What do you think of the Fender Mustang? What about the Gibson SG bass? Thanks!

Re: Buying a Bass
I have the opportunity to buy a G&L Tribute SB-2 new for $350. Is that a great deal? Body is made in Korea; pickups and bridge made in the USA. I'm looking to get started learning bass, and I figured that 350 is a good price in case I don't stick with it. It's a hell of a lot better than spending $1...

Advice about a Guitar Trade
Hey all, I have a 2006 Martin D35 , and am in talks with a guy with a 2004 Taylor 714ce . The Martin doesn't have electronics, whereas the Taylor has the ES. Both are in great condition. It would be a straight up trade. The Martin sells for about $2100; the Taylor for $2749. Those prices are ...

Thanks for the advice, you two. The "yers" are on purpose, as that's how she says them in the song. I'm going on vacation next week, and I'll have a better mic and recording setup, as well as a friend who plays bass/banjo/pretty much anything. I'll take your advice and record it a step or two up. Th...

"Your House" cover
Here's a cover of "Your House" by Alanis Morissette. hxxp://download.yousendit.com/2C99B10848BA26F2 I'd love some feedback on the vocals. What can I do to improve them? I know my timing is a little off, and the guitar strings need changing. Any feedback would be great. Note the fancy key change in t...

The LX series have a "patch" on the back that's a little rougher, and it stays on your leg easier. I admit that the shape took some getting used to, but with practice, the guitar stays where you want it, especially with a strap. My preferred bowl shape is the Super Shallow, as it's nice to play with...

I've given up on trying to convince people that Ovations are nice. Some people like them. Some people don't. I have two Ovations, and I used to have three. Why would I keep buying a guitar if I thought it was shitty? I have a Celebrity Deluxe CS257, and it's decent. I have a Legend LX 12 string, and...
