If you have a Warehouse Music store in your area, that's just as cheap as Best Buy, has at least the same selection (if not greater) and have better service. Check it out.

If you want easy AND cool, you can't go wrong with Nirvana. And Go With the Flow by QOTSA is easy as hell (both parts), although it sounds much better layered, so it's a good one to do with a friend. And there's always the old standbys, like Glycerine (Bush) and Lightning Crashes (Live)

[quote="Guitar One"]It seems like every comment on this thread is the opposite of my condition. Typical Situation, singing and playing, seems mind-numbingly easy, and I picked up Jimi Thing incredibly fast, too. The hard ones for me to sing and play are What Would You Say and, believe it or not, Wh...

yeah, that list is much more convenient... instead of having to hit main, now we have to dig through the threads to find the list.

well, the assessment that screamers do not have good voices is sorely mistaken. Listen to the song Bother by Stonesour. Beautiful, huh? Well sung? Well it's the same guy that sings for Slipknot. And just saying, he does not scream all the time. Try listening to Wait and Bleed or Left Behind.

Also, I know I'll probably disagree with a whole lot of people on this thread when I say this, but I think "screaming" can be an effective tool. It can be used to heighten emotion, or just sound intimidating. My inspiration for this comment: Slipknot. That man has more passion in his little finger t...

[quote="StarSlight"]I don't mind Dashboard. Gets really corny sometimes, but he has a few really good songs. Also, he only has like 5 or 6 songs in alternate tunings, all of which are variations on open D. So about 10% of his songs are in non-standard (Eb) tuning. im kinda lost on your stats, im no...

The good thing about being self taught, if you sucessfuly do it, you create your own style of singing and playing. That makes you stand out just a little more from most. Lessons are great, but if you completely rely on them, you start to sound just like the teacher, and some of the originality goes...

I can say that I've gone up to two months without listening to a Dave Matthews CD. Without even getting the urge. Many other bands can fill the gap, such as Local H and Queens of the Stone Age. Now going 2 months without listening to them...

He has to scream. Have you heard his natural voice? It's pretty girly. He has to scream to make himself sound a little manly.

Speaking of Alice in Chains AND staying on topic, actually one of their songs usually gets me when I sing it. I know it sounds funny, but the song Nutshell almost makes me crack up every once in a while, while he cooes sofly over the chords. Yeah, call me a wierdo.
