You really shouldn't be thinking of it in terms of pattern.. it's all rhythm. Don't think about strumming up, then up, then down once, then up twice, then down twice.. Just play it. :)

yeah, to me, the last note is actually the first note, you just don't play it the first time. i leave a bigger pause between the second last and the last note than i do between the last and the first note. when you're talking about 'second last' and 'last note', do you mean the way [b]you [/b] play...

I went to my first 3 shows earlier this month. Vancouver > Gorge > Gorge. 3 shows in 4 nights.. wooohooo. It was incredible.
