Tripping Billies

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Kind of a less accurate, more of a figure out what feels right to you song. But here's my tab anyway.

Code: Select all

Tripping Billies

Intro: (easy peasy)
|---------------------------------------------------------------------
|---------------------------------------------------------------------
|-----------------------------2----0---------------------------0---2
|--2-----3-------2-----3---------------2-----3-----2---3----------

repeat twice.

Verse**:
|-----------------------2----4/5---2--------------
|------------0--2--4--------------------4----0---
|-0--2--4-----------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------------------

|------------------------2------------
|-------------0--2--4----------------
|-0--2--4----------------------------
|----------------------------2---3---

**This is my interpretation of Tripping Billes. I could cheat and put a bass tab that I found on www.dmbcrash.com, but I won’t. You can go there and check out if you like. In the mean time you have my version. All of the verse is played pretty fast and the two sections are repeated as one until the chorus starts. The important part is to go with what sounds right to you.

Chorus:
|-----------------------------------------------
|---------7/9\7--------------------------------
|------9---------9-----------------0---2---0--
|--7----------------7-----2---3---------------

A little munky fill:
|------------------------10----9---7-----
|--------7/9\7------------------------9--
|-----9---------9-------------------------
|--7---------------7----------------------

Song breakdown: (taken from Red Rocks)
Intro x2
Verse x2
Chorus x4
Verse x2 (no lyrics)
Verse x2 (w/ lyrics)
Chorus x4
Intro x2
Verse x2 (no lyrics)
Verse x2 (w/ lyrics)
Chorus x8 (with lyrics)
Jam**
Chorus x8
Intro+

**The Jam is the chorus part repeated as needed for Boyd’s solo, but try and improvise a little to give it some FLAVA!

+Intro slows down at the end of the song.

lie about it
cry about it
we'll all be ok
