** LIVE Jimi Thing performance**

Unread post by jellyfish » Sat Oct 01, 2005 11:40 am

Last night at the beach...

Rythym, Me in front
Vocals, Vern Deguzman
Lead, Mr. Doak

This shit hole didn't have any stage lighting because their performance stage is currently being remodeled. Therefore they stuck us in the bar which turned out to be cramped and dark.

sweet job man!, it would have been nice to see you actually playing it, but cool to hear non the less... im hoping to play a few gigs at a local coffe house and borders sometime within the next 12 months, i just hope they sound as good as yours, again great job.

*just a little word of advice for your camera man in later performances, the "spinning the camera" thing at the end, can easily be done in editing

This is my new setup.

AKG Mic - I got it for $100 becasue I know the guy at Guitar Center. But I've seen them as much as $199. You can get a good Shure mic for $100 bucks though.

Mixer - Behringer Eurorack U8802 - $50

This is a basic, no frills mixer. No effects.

Effects Box - Alesis Inkeo. I use it for reverb since im not running anything through an amp. And I don't like post proccessing. You can use cool edit pro and you won't need the effects box. I have both but prefer the Alesis to process the sound.

I got it for $79. I've see them from $149 to $199

So i paid around $300.

But he mic stand is $30, and the cables are proably about $40 for everything.

nice cover!, admitably they look like your just shoved in the corner, but the accoustic was spot on and the lead very impressive..........need to find someone who plays lead like that

Your lead singer sounds like john mayer trying to be dave trying to impersonate boyd's violin on a bad day. Great guitar work though.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Oh, we were in the corner. I've played there twice before and they have a great stage..but like I said, it was being remodeled.

Thanks.
