How to get every Dave and Tim show 2 days after they play.

Unread post by jsgksu » Wed Apr 02, 2003 10:00 pm

Have you guys all been to http://www.sharingthegroove.org yet. It is absolutely amazing, I have all the D&T shows up until 3/31/3002 already on my computer. Two days after they play a guy there posts them for Bit Torrent Downloads. If you are unaware of how to download these files there is a FAQ section that spells it out fairly clearly. Just follow the link, go to Downloading Shows, then Bit Torrent Downloads. There is a sticky for every show of the tour so far. I wouldnt suggest this unless youve got some sort of high speed internet, it takes a while. If you have any questions read the FAQ and if that doesnt help Ill see if I can. Enjoy.

Oh, and if youve got like T1 or T3, leave your windows open after downloading, it helps us all so much.

Ge here: http://www.etree.org/shnamp.html and download the appropriate ShnAmp for the version of Winamp you have.

You have to wait until the download completes before you can listen to them - the way BT works is by allocating the files (making them appear like they're there and take up space, but they don't have data yet) and then filling them as your client gets data and it deposits it into the correct files. Once the show is finished, you can listen to them with ShnAmp installed (http://www.etree.org).

The whole thing confused me to pieces. Oh well. If someone wants to PM me or put up a post with step by step instructions for a retard like me, I would love them forever.

First, download and install the mkw converter: http://www.etree.org/mkw.html
Next go to http://www.sharingthegroove.org then go to downloading shows, bit torrent downloads. Now you can look around for the show you want or just click on the notice that says Dave and Tim 2003 Tour Downloads. It takes a long time to download so if you dont have fast internet I wouldnt realy even try it. So, find the show you want and click on the attachment that is under the setlist. Hours later when the download is done you will have all the songs in .shn format. You need to convert them to wav now. (shn and wav are just types of sound files) To change them from shn to wav you select all the songs/files you downloaded and drag them into the mkw converter window.

This is a brief overview of how to do it, check out the faq's in this link http://www.sharingthegroove.org/msgboar ... readid=151 for more information and if you still dont understand reply here or post a question at http://www.sharingthegroove.org because most everyone there knows how to do it and will be able to help. Hope this helps.

I haven't had anyone send me anything, it's gonna be kind of hard to put this all together myself (I'm not complaining though )... but if anyone wants to help out or contribute, shoot me off an email at:

Yeah Im thinking about taking that drastic step (or maybe Ill just buy some cheap data cd's) but anyways did you hear that intro to dancing nancies, I dont know if thats a regular thing or what but that was the first time I heard it and it was so cool.
