Texas Residents - Summer Tour

Unread post by jpittman » Mon Mar 10, 2003 11:31 pm

Alright, you badasses, I see that DMB is making three stops in our fine state in July. As this is my last summer here (moving to NYC in August), I'd like to catch two of them (I've got my eye on The Woodlands and Selma).

Now, I am not a member of Warehouse, so I'm going to have to brave the general sale and hope for lawn seats (which is fine with me, especially b/c I don't think you can smoke [no, not weed] in the reserved seats at the Woodlands).

At any rate, if any of you guys are making Warehouse requests, I'll happily reimburse you for a seat, or maybe we can just get together at the shows.

Hell, those of us in Austin should get together regardless. I'm bored. :)

Now, let us all watch this thread sink to the bottom of the page. ;)

Well, i was just in austin this past weekend (i realized while sitting in my hotel room across from the capitol building we shoulda done somethin)

I'm getting a road trip together for selma... a friend of mine (6string if ya remember him) i think is tryin to go to both selma and woodlands (i'll try to pull this one off if i can, not highly likely though - selma's a 1-day drive, houston's 1-really-long-day-drive from brownsville)

once i've got my tickets and our plans are more firmed up we'll talk some more p. catch ya later man

p.s. for all you non-cowboys out there, selma is san antonio and woodlands is houston.

What were you doing up here in Austin? I wasn't in town from Wednesday->Saturday, so I might have missed you regardless.

I forgot how far south you were; making two shows would definitely be a bitch. I'm hoping to be at both.

We'll definitely chat later on as things progress.

As long as you don't start saying "u" & "ur" then I think you're okay. :)

Heh, thanks! :) How did you even know? I must be getting senile. :)

I am looking forward to it, for sure. It's gonna bust my ass, but it'll be fun too.

lol.. i would get shot
my mom went to ut. my dad went to ut. my mom's mom went to ut. my dad's parents met at ut. my uncle went to ut. my great-uncle went to ut. my great-aunt went to ut. my second cousin went to ut. (i think you catch my drift)

besides, there's just something about the atmosphere at ut that just blows me away... can't really explain it unless you've experienced it

Oh I've been a silent reader of your blog for a while now. It's been very interesting to see your progression (and slowly increasing frustration) when it comes to law school...

It's all good. I know what an influence family can be. My dad was the first in his family to go to college, and chose TAMU (he wanted to be an engineer, and was dirt poor). As a result, 4 of my 5 first-cousins and their spouses are all Aggies, as are my brother and myself. :)

Hehe. I've wondered how many people are reading that. I need to go back and finish posting about the first few months of law school applications. You know, for my memoirs. ;)

So apparently we're the only two interested in this conversation tonight, huh?

EDIT: Well my drawing-type-thingie above didn't come out quite as planned (apparently phpbb ignores anything but one space between characters...), but it actually came out kinda cool 8)

Yeah, apparently it's just us. Hopefully others will wade through our public IM to see show info. ;)

I can't make the San Antonio show. :(

My best friend marches DCI (for the Cavaliers), and I discovered this morning, as I doublechecked the dates before ordering, that the DCI show I've got tickets for is the same friggin' day as the DMB show in Selma.   And what's more, that show is gonna be my last time to see him before I head out to NYC, so....

Needless to say, I'm not pleased.

So, I just got lawn seats to the Woodlands, and I'll have to make the 3 1/2 hour drive instead of the 1:15 one.

:(

Oh, and to top it off - the DCI show is in San Antonio. At the exact same fucking time as the DMB show.

The gods are against me.
