has anyone else noticed that during the interlude(sometimes) and during the jam also(sometimes) that he plays the same chords and notes, but in a different pattern? and just for reference the version i am listening to is the version of the song from july 2nd, and distinctly(or i am quite mad) hear dave playing it differently during i think only one of the interludes, and then during the jam during leroi's solo
Hadoken!

no prob
actually, i didn't realize how incredibly cool this part is till just now.. i don't even know how he came up with the idea for it.. what dave does is plays the Am thing in the 7/8 pattern, while carter stays in 4/4 ().. so dave plays 4 measures of 7/8 (aka, 28 8th notes) while carter plays 4 measures of 4/4 (aka, 32 8th notes), so dave ends up being short 4 8th notes (or 2 beats).. so he plays the last 2 beats of the pattern again, and then goes on to the verse... it's reaaaaaaally confusing if you aren't good with counting out 7/8, so be careful..
here's what dave plays, written out in 4/4:
counting it out in your head in 4/4 is way tough though, and pretty much pointless cuz you'll get tripped up.. if you count it out as 4 measures in 7/8 + 1 measure of 2/4, though, it's essentially the same thing repeated over and over..
you really need to get back into that 7/8 mindset that you use in the chorus for this part, and just try to ignore that carter is in a different time sig
..wow

well i know that the rest of the tab is right.. and though i haven't seen/didn't pay attention to this specific part, i highly doubt he jumps to any different frets or strings for this part (since it's almost exactly the same as a few different sections in the song)david77 wrote:Gotta question for you ... is your tab based on seeing it played live?
