Help with Guitar Humidifier

Unread post by dpresti » Tue Oct 19, 2004 1:12 pm

i just bought an SKB humidifier for my guitar and i put the distilled water in, and when i hold it in my hand... so that the vents are facing down, and kinda shake it alittle bit, some water comes out. just a drop or 2, but the reason i'm doing this is cuz when i'm carring my case or trasporting it, this is going to happen, making the drops fall in my guitar body.. are these "few" drops going to cause any damage to the guitar or the electronics?

Absolutely. No humidifier should EVER release drops of water. Perhaps you put too much water in? I'm not sure as I'm not familiar with this particular model.

I believe that as long as there are no drastic changes in temperature you shouldn't have to worry about it. I don't think any temperature that's comfortable for you to live in in a house (assuming that's where your house is) will be a problem for the guitar.

edit: a second opinion on this from the guitar-tecchy people would be nice (i'm far from it :P)
