I like flea basses. good stuff. I have gas for a Peavey Cirrus BXP, any upright electric, and a really nice acoustic bass. oh, and a nice amp setup would help a lot.

nope, i meant acoustic. i'd like an upright as well, but that would take some learning on my part. i just want a nice acoustic so i can play on like...boardwalks and stuff and be heard...

What I've ever heard about "acoustic bass's" is not always positive. But then agian I havent played one myself.

I'm not a bass man, but I have fooled around with some acoustic basses at the stores....not very impressive. Not too much meat there if you know what I mean...still need to amplify them IMO.
But if you have ever heard (or more likely seen) one of those BIG Mexican bass guitars...they are called a "guitaron"...now that is a serious bass....real projection. I'm serious when I say this, I don't know why bass players don't choose one of these when they want to go "acoustic". Read up on them, you will find out why they are superior to the regular style acoustic basses that are out there.

OK bass players...be easy on me...I know I have probably crossed some line that I will be flamed for years to come....but read the beginning of my post...."I'm not a bass man, but..."

thats cool, i don't know. for just jamming with a friend who has an acoustic guitar, i'd think that an acoustic would be fine. I played one at a local music store, and it sounded fine. but one of those mexican things would be pretty cool...
