SDL - 6/21 Tim Outro w/ Link

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

SDL - 6/21 Tim Outro w/ Link

Beginning at lets say...6minutes

Can anyone help me out with a tab for Tim's riff? In one position would be sufficient.

That is sick I hope some one will tab it. Is there a tab for what Tim is playing for the rest of the song? Tim played a similar ending in Tampa and I have an audio file if that would help anyone out

Tim fills for So Damn Lucky:

Code: Select all

Verse (add variations in Emaj):
E:-------------------------------
B:-------------------------------
G:-------------------------------
D:---2h4-4-2h4-4---2h4-4-2h4-4---
A:-----------------2---2-2---2---
E:---2---2-2---2-----------------

Chorus:
(transition)
E:-----
B:--3--
G:--2--
D:--0--
A:--X--
E:--2--

("Oh my god...")
E:---7--5--3----3-----0----7--2--0----0---0---
B:---7--5--3----0--3--0----8--3--1----2---0---
G:---7--6--4----0--2--0----9--2--0----2---0---
D:---9--7--5----0--0--2----9--0--2----2---2---
A:---9--7--5----2--X--2----7-----3----0---2---
E:---7--5--3----3--2--0-------------------0---

Main outro part:
E:--17---17---17---17---16-16---- E:--17-17-17-17-16-16-12--
B:-(17)-(17)-(17)-(17)--------17- B:------------------------
G:----------------------------16- (Or G:---(Repeat ad nauseum)--
D:------------------------------- with D:------------------------
A:------------------------------- a A:------------------------
E:------------------------------- slide) E:------------------------

Secondary outro variations (played in various orders):
E:--5---5---5---5--4-4-----------
B:-(5)-(5)-(5)-(5)------5--------
G:----------------------4--------
D:-------------------------------
A:-------------------------------
E:-------------------------------

E:---7---7---7---7---5---5-------
B:--(7)-(7)-(7)-(7)-(7)-(7)--7---
G:---------------------------7---
D:-------------------------------
A:-------------------------------
E:-------------------------------

E:--10---10---10---10--9-9-------
B:-(10)-(10)-(10)-(10)------10---
G:--------------------------9----
D:-------------------------------
A:-------------------------------
E:-------------------------------

Dave just plays this:

Code: Select all

E:----------------------------
B:----------------------------
G:----------------------------
D:--2-----6-----7-----2-------
A:--2-----X-----X-----2-------
E:--0-----4-----5-----0-------

Do you have the part he plays at the beginning with the slide?

Since you did an amazing job with this do you think you could try tab the parts and slide solo Tim has been playing during Cornbread

For the slide stuff on SDL, watch that vid again. He's playing a slide on D from 9/11 and then on B from 12/22 amongst other things. Just stay in Emaj and play what sounds/feels comfortable.

As for Cornbread, get me a vid of Tim. I'm no good with just my ears. I can tab from watching and then doing some trial and error. As for just hearing things and the tabbing them, I'm pathetic.

Just watched this and for it being my first viewing of the band playing Corn Bread, I must say I do like it a lot.

As for tabbing Tim's slide solo... I wouldn't be able to do it justice. Play around in G is all I can say. I've only been at this for four years and to tab something like that, I'd need to ability to play slide guitar with comparable skill and it goes without saying that I unfortunately can not. Apologies if I let you down.

Edit: Oh and his regular parts are just octaves of Dave's main riff. Play full chords for the chorus.

just to update the tab a little bit from what i could hear

Code: Select all

E:----------------------------------
B:----------------------------------
G:--(1)-----------------------------
D:---2-------6-------7------7---7---
A:---2-------X-------X------5---4---
E:---0-------4-------5--------------
to me it sounds like he is playing E instead of Em to start and at times when i'm playing along it sounds like they change it up a little but i'm not that good or maybe dave just forgot or something?
also just a tip for playing it, go w/ a 4 count for the first 3 chords and then a 2 count on the last 2 if that makes sense to you

ok i THINK i figured it out to go along w/ my last post. they start out and end w/ E 4 times and the rest of it is this

Code: Select all

E:----------------------------------
B:----------------------------------
G:---1------------------------------ x3
D:---2-------6-------7------7---7---
A:---2-------X-------X------5---4---
E:---0-------4-------5--------------

then

E:----------------------------------
B:----------------------------------
G:----------------------------------
D:---7-------4-------6-------7---7--
A:---x-------2-------4-------5---4--
E:---5------------------------------

i tried to tab it from this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owjrT4RuasY
let me know what you think
